Qualifications

• Must hold current Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).

Discover and Learn Academy is seeking a Certificate III Educator to join our team in Tanilba Bay NSW. We are offering both a full-time and part-time positions, offering an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children through quality education and care. As a Certificate III Educator, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate programmes that support children's learning, growth and wellbeing. This role is vital to our mission of providing exceptional childcare and early education services to our community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and implement educational activities and experiences that promote children's cognitive, physical, social and emotional development
• Provide direct care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety, health and wellbeing at all times
• Build positive relationships with children and encourage their confidence, independence and self-esteem
• Work collaboratively with educators and support staff to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
• Communicate regularly with families about their child's progress, achievements and learning goals
• Maintain detailed observations and documentation of children's development and learning outcomes
• Support children with personal care routines including hygiene, nutrition and rest periods
• Contribute to the maintenance of a clean, safe and well-organised learning space
• Comply with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures relating to child safety and wellbeing
• Participate in professional development and training to maintain current knowledge of early childhood best practice

What we're looking for

• Current Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent qualification)
• A genuine passion for working with young children and commitment to their development and wellbeing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
• Sound knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate learning strategies
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a collaborative working environment
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Working with Children Check (NSW) clearance or ability to obtain
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic early childhood setting
• Experience in childcare or education environments is highly desirable
