Job summary

Youturn leads headspace Port Augusta to deliver youth-centred mental health and wellbeing services across Port Augusta and surrounding towns. As Centre Manager, you'll play a critical role in ensuring young people can access integrated, youth-friendly, family-inclusive services across mental health, physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drugs, and work and study support.

You'll work alongside young people, families, consortium partners, community organisations, health providers, and key stakeholders to create a service that genuinely reflects local needs and delivers meaningful outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a diverse leadership role where no two days will be the same.

You'll:

• Lead the operational, clinical and administrative functions of the service.
• Build, mentor and inspire a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding outcomes for young people.
• Foster strong relationships with local communities, service providers, consortium partners and key stakeholders.
• Oversee service quality, governance, reporting, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive community engagement and ensure services remain accessible, inclusive and responsive to local needs.
• Use data, feedback and service insights to continuously improve outcomes and strengthen service delivery.

Essential Qualifications

You'll hold:

• Degree qualifications in Allied Health, Social Work, Behavioural or Social Sciences, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy or another relevant health-related discipline.
• Current professional registration, accreditation or membership relevant to your discipline, including AHPRA registration or AASW membership/eligibility where applicable.

You'll bring demonstrated experience in:

• Leading health, mental health, youth, or community service programs.
• Managing multidisciplinary teams, including recruitment, supervision, coaching, performance development and workforce planning.
• Clinical governance, quality improvement, risk management and service evaluation.
• Contract, funding and operational management, including reporting against organisational and funding requirements.
• Developing and maintaining partnerships across health, community and government sectors.
• Using service and workforce data to drive performance, identify opportunities and improve outcomes.
• Delivering youth-focused and family-inclusive services within complex service environments.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

You'll have strong capability in:

• Clinical governance and integrated service delivery models.
• Mental health and community-based health service systems.
• Project management, organisational development and service planning.
• Continuous quality improvement, risk management and compliance frameworks.
• Electronic client management and reporting systems.
• Stakeholder engagement and collaborative service delivery.
• Youth participation, family-inclusive practice, cultural safety and community engagement.
• Delivering services aligned with the headspace Model Integrity Framework and associated reporting requirements.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have

• Postgraduate qualifications in Business, Health Service Management, or a related discipline.
• Leadership experience within the not-for-profit sector.
• Experience working in rural, regional or remote communities.
• Knowledge of the challenges and opportunities impacting young people's health and wellbeing in regional Australia.
