Job summary

Above and Beyond Early Learning Centre in Avoca QLD is seeking a Centre Director to lead our dedicated team, drive high‑quality outcomes for children, and mentor educators to deliver exceptional early childhood education and care.

You will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with legislation, engage families and the community, and foster a collaborative, positive service culture. The ideal candidate has an approved early childhood qualification and proven leadership in an ECEC setting.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience as a Director in an ECEC setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to mentor and develop a team
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
• Excellent understanding of NQF/NQS/EYLF and relevant legislation
• Commitment to safeguarding and child safety

About the Role

As Centre Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service, ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, build positive relationships with families and the community, and inspire a positive and collaborative team culture.

The successful applicant will be an approachable and supportive leader with excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of the National Quality Framework, and a genuine passion for early childhood education and care.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

The successful applicant will possess:

• An approved Early Childhood qualification (Diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, as approved by ACECQA).
• Previous experience in a leadership role as a Director within an Early Childhood Education and Care setting
• Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
• Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Management qualifications (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
• Current Child Protection Training and Sound knowledge of Child Safe Standards and safeguarding practices.
• A strong understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and support a team of educators to achieve high-quality outcomes for children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, educators, and community stakeholders.
• Experience with compliance, quality improvement planning, and service management.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
