Job summary

AMIGA Montessori in Mount Duneed, VIC, is seeking a dedicated Centre Chef for our Armstrong Creek centre. You will create fresh, nutritious meals for children aged six weeks to six years and lead a small kitchen team with passion and care.

We value healthy eating and safe food handling. The successful candidate will hold a culinary qualification and a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, with flexibility to work collaboratively within our early learning community.

Qualifications

• Relevant culinary qualification and experience in a professional kitchen.
• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and sound food handling knowledge.
• Experience preparing nutritious meals and accommodating dietary requirements.
• Strong organisation and time management; able to manage a kitchen independently.
• Current Employee Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
• Positive, team-focused attitude and commitment to child safety.
• Previous experience cooking in an early childhood education setting is highly regarded!

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children aged six weeks to six years.
• Planning and delivering seasonal rotating menus that meet children's nutritional requirements.
• Managing dietary requirements, food allergies and intolerances with care and attention to detail.
• Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards.
• Managing food ordering, stock control and kitchen organisation.
• Working collaboratively with our educators and leadership team to create positive mealtime experiences for children.
