Job summary

Crown Hotel Parramatta is hiring a casual Cellarhand who can also assist behind the bar during peak times. You will handle stock deliveries, manage keg changes and keep storage areas clean and organized. A NSW RSA is mandatory, and early morning availability is required.

Qualifications

• Must have current NSW RSA competency card.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, unloading and organising beverage and general stock deliveries.
• Safely lifting, moving and transporting heavy items including kegs and stock.
• Maintaining FIFO stock rotation across storage areas.
• Replenishing stock across bars, cool rooms and storage locations.
• Assisting with keg changes and cellar operations.
• Maintaining cleanliness, organisation and hygiene in cellar and storage areas.
• Supporting stocktakes and inventory management procedures.
• Ensuring stock is stored securely and in compliance with WHS requirements.
• Reporting damaged stock, equipment faults and hazards to management.
• Collaborating with management and teams to support daily operations.

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking and motivated Cellarhand to join Crown Hotel Parramatta, who has the versatility to also step behind the bar, lend a hand on busy event nights and willingness to learn.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in maintaining an organised workspace and has a strong understanding of workplace safety and stock-handling procedures.

The successful candidate must be comfortable with early starts and be capable of undertaking physical duties involving the movement, lifting and organisation of heavy stock and equipment.

There is the opportunity in this role to also engage in all other aspects of the hotel operations. A can-do attitude and a genuine love for hospitality are a must

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Receiving, unloading and organising beverage and general stock deliveries.

Safely lifting, moving and transporting heavy items, including kegs, cartons and other stock.

Maintaining accurate stock rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.

Replenishing stock across bar areas, cool rooms and designated storage locations.

Assisting with keg changes and general cellar operations.

Maintaining cleanliness, organisation and hygiene standards throughout cellar and storage areas.

Supporting stocktakes, inventory management and stock control procedures.

Ensuring all stock is stored securely, safely and in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.

Reporting damaged stock, equipment faults, maintenance concerns and workplace hazards to management.

Working collaboratively with management and operational teams to ensure stock availability and efficient daily operations.

Current and valid NSW RSA competency card - Mandatory.

Early Morning Availability

Physical Capability: Must be capable of safely performing physically demanding duties, including repetitive lifting, moving and handling heavy stock and equipment.

Reliability & Punctuality: A strong commitment to attendance, punctuality and completing allocated tasks efficiently.

Workplace Safety Awareness: Understanding of safe manual handling practices, hazard identification and workplace health and safety requirements.

Organisation & Time Management: Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and maintain an organised working environment.

Teamwork & Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with managers, suppliers and other team members.

HIGHLY REGARDED

The following experience would be advantageous:

Previous experience as a Cellarman, Cellar Attendant or Stockroom Assistant within a hotel, pub or hospitality environment.

Experience receiving deliveries and managing beverage inventory.

Familiarity with cellar operations, beer keg systems and cool room organisation.

Knowledge of stock rotation, inventory procedures and stocktake processes.

WORKING HOURS & AVAILABILITY

This is a casual position, with shifts rostered according to operational requirements.

Applicants must understand that:

Early morning starts are a requirement

Shift durations and days may vary depending on deliveries and operational demands.

Some weekend and public holiday availability may be required.

Flexibility to assist with additional shifts when required will be highly regarded.
