Job summary

WesTrac Tweed Heads is seeking two experienced Plant Mechanics to join our Resident Field Service team. You will service, diagnose, and repair Caterpillar equipment across the Northern Rivers region, delivering outstanding customer service while representing a world‑leading brand.

Based in Tweed Heads, you will work independently on a diverse range of machinery, with strong support from our experienced team and access to WesTrac training pathways to progress your career.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised trade qualification in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Diesel or equivalent.
• Experience working on construction, earthmoving or mobile plant equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage field-based workloads.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Current unrestricted driver's licence.
• Caterpillar experience and SIS/ET exposure highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on Caterpillar equipment in the field.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Complete scheduled maintenance and breakdown support.
• Deliver high-quality customer service and technical support.
• Maintain accurate service reports and documentation.
• Uphold WesTrac's commitment to safety and quality.
