Job summary

Celeste Catering is seeking a reliable Casual Chef for our Upper Mount Gravatt production kitchen. This role covers food preparation, platter assembly, packaging, dispatch, and occasional delivery to multiple venues.

You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, supporting the Head Chef and a small team to meet daily deadlines while maintaining high standards of food safety and presentation.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience as a chef or cook, ideally in catering or high-volume production.
• Confident preparing fresh platters, sandwiches and hot savoury items.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Works efficiently and independently while supporting a small team.
• Takes pride in food quality and presentation.
• Willing to assist with deliveries and on-site catering.
• Holds a current driver's licence and understands safe food handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble sandwich platters, fruit platters, cakes, slices and hot savoury items.
• Assist with daily food production, portioning, packaging and presentation.
• Follow daily production schedules, catering orders and run sheets.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen organisation.
• Assist with packing, checking and dispatching catering orders to multiple venues.
• Deliver catering orders to funeral homes and cemetery locations as required.
• Support front of house teams with heating, preparation and presentation of function food.
• Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure catering orders are completed accurately and on time.

About the Role
