Job summary

Catholic Healthcare Limited in Sydney's Surry Hills is seeking a friendly Catering team member to provide resident meal service and assist with meal preparation, ensuring a high quality dining experience for our elders. You will work as part of Gertrude Abbott Aged Care, supporting peers, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and following all policies to keep residents safe and comfortable.

This casual role offers a competitive hourly pay rate and not-for-profit benefits, with opportunities to grow

Qualifications

• Passion for providing high quality care to the elderly.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) desirable but not essential.
• Good understanding of food safety, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ability to interact with residents and families respectfully.
• NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain.

As a member of the Catering team at Gertrude Abbott Aged Care, you will be preparing high quality food and providing a great dining service to our residents to ensure a high quality of life.

About The Role

• Providing resident meal service including assisting with meal preparation, providing a quality dining service and assisting residents as required
• Supporting your peers and maintaining a cooperative team spirit
• Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues and residents, closely following all policies and procedures

To be successful in this role you'll need

• A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) - desirable but not essential
• Good understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
• Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with experience interacting with a wide range of people
• Able to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families
• NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain
