Job summary

Spotless is seeking Casual Catering Assistants to join the Brisbane Immigration Detention Centre team. You will assist with the preparation and service of high-quality, nutritious meals while maintaining a safe and efficient catering environment and contributing to the wellbeing of those within the centre.

You will follow HACCP guidelines, keep the kitchen clean, operate equipment safely, and work with the Chef Manager/Head Chef to meet daily meal requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Bulk cooking experience similar to aged care or resources backgrounds.
• Certificate II Kitchen Operations or willingness to undertake.
• Food Safety Certificates.
• Understanding of HACCP Food Safety guidelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, prepare, and produce food requirements as directed by the Chef Manager/Head Chef.
• Cleaning the food preparation and consumption areas, cooking equipment and utensils.
• Ensure compliance with the HACCP Food Safety Plan, monitor food safety standards, and complete documentation.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated safely and kept in a clean condition.
