Job summary

Spotless is recruiting multiple Casual Catering Assistants for Villawood Immigration Detention Centre in Villawood, NSW. You will help prepare and serve nutritious meals under supervision, with a focus on safety and hygiene.

Mandatory qualifications include a Certificate II in Kitchen Operations (or higher), a valid Working with Children Check, and current food safety certificates, plus prior kitchen experience and HACCP knowledge. This role offers above award pay and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Certificate II in Kitchen Operations (or higher) is mandatory.
• Valid Food Safety Certificates.
• Current Working with Children Check (Employee) - Mandatory requirement.
• Prior experience in a commercial kitchen setting.
• Sound knowledge of HACCP Food Safety guidelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assembling, preparing, and producing meals as directed by the Chef Manager or Head Chef.
• Maintain cleanliness across food preparation and dining areas, including equipment and utensils.
• Adhere to the HACCP Food Safety Plan by upholding food safety and hygiene standards, completing all documentation accurately and on time.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure it remains clean and well-maintained.

We are currently looking for multiple Casual Catering Assistants to join the Spotless team at Villawood Immigration Detention Centre in Villawood, NSW. As a subcontractor to Secure Journeys, Spotless is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, culturally diverse meals that support the overall health and well-being of individuals within the centre.

We're seeking dedicated Catering Assistants who are passionate about delivering exceptional food and customer service. To be considered, you must have a Certificate II or higher in Commercial Cookery and a valid Working with Children Check.

• Assist in assembling, preparing, and producing meals as directed by the Chef Manager or Head Chef.
• Maintain cleanliness across food preparation and dining areas, including equipment and utensils.
• Adhere to the HACCP Food Safety Plan by upholding food safety and hygiene standards, completing all documentation accurately and on time.

To be successful, you'll have:
