Job summary

Catholic Healthcare Limited is seeking a casual Catering team member for Lewisham Nursing Home/Hostel to prepare high quality food and deliver a great dining service to residents.

You will provide resident meal service, support peers, and follow safety policies to ensure a high quality of life for residents. Experience in hospitality is preferred, with a Certificate III in Hospitality desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality and dining service for residents.
• Good understanding of food safety and kitchen cleanliness.
• Willingness to obtain NDIS and Police check clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident meal service including assisting with meal preparation.
• Deliver a quality dining service and assist residents as required.
• Work with peers and maintain safe, policy-driven operations.

As a member of the Catering team at Lewisham Nursing Home/Hostel, you will be preparing high quality food and providing a great dining service to our residents to ensure a high quality of life.

About the Role:

• Providing resident meal service including assisting with meal preparation, providing a quality dining service and assisting residents as required
• Supporting your peers and maintaining a cooperative team spirit
• Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues and residents, closely following all policies and procedures

To be successful in this role you’ll need

• A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) – desirable but not essential
• Good understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
• Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with experience interacting with a wide range of people
• Able to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families
• NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain
