Job summary

Catholic Healthcare Limited is seeking Catering team members at St James Matraville to prepare high quality meals and deliver a great dining service for residents. This permanent Part Time and casual role offers a rate of $33.20 per hour plus superannuation, reflecting the not-for-profit nature of the organisation and its commitment to community care.

Successful candidates will have a heart for elderly care, strong communication, and food safety awareness, with NDIS/Police checks or willingness

• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Good understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills interacting with a wide range of people.
• NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain.

As a member of the Catering team at St James Matraville, you will be preparing high quality food and providing a great dining service to our residents to ensure a high quality of life.

About the Role:

• Providing resident meal service including assisting with meal preparation, providing a quality dining service and assisting residents as required
• Supporting your peers and maintaining a cooperative team spirit
• Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues and residents, closely following all policies and procedures

To be successful in this role you’ll need

• A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) – desirable but not essential
• Good understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
• Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with experience interacting with a wide range of people
• Able to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families
• NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain
