Job summary

BallyCara in Queensland is seeking a friendly Catering Assistant for a casual and permanent part-time role. You will help deliver meals to residents and visitors, support the dining team, and contribute to a warm, respectful environment.

Flexibility across shifts, including weekends and public holidays, is valued. Food safety knowledge and a customer-service mindset are essential, with opportunities to grow within our values-led community.

Qualifications

• Food safety or food handling certificate is required.
• Knowledge of modified diets (IDDSI) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present meals with care.
• Serve residents in a warm and friendly manner.
• Assist with meal service in dining areas.
• Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards.
• Clean kitchen and dining areas.

About the Role

Working alongside our welcoming catering team, you'll help deliver delicious meals and outstanding customer service to our residents and visitors.

Your day may include:

• Preparing and presenting meals with care
• Serving residents in a warm and friendly manner
• Assisting with meal service in dining areas
• Maintaining exceptional food safety and hygiene standards
• Cleaning kitchen and dining areas
• Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods
• Helping create an enjoyable dining experience for every customer

Availability & Shifts

We're looking for team members who can work across a variety of shifts.

Availability across weekdays, weekends and public holidays (Availability to do nights until 7:30pm highly desirable)

Experience We're Looking For

• Aged Care, Retirement Living or Hospitals
• Food Safety or Food Handling Certificate
• Knowledge of modified diets (IDDSI)

Requirements

• Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one through BallyCara)
• Australian full working rights
• COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations are highly recommended
