Job summary

BaptistCare NSW & ACT is seeking a Casual Catering Assistant for its Macquarie Park group of homes. You will help create a warm dining experience by serving meals, assisting in light kitchen tasks, and ensuring food safety standards are met.

You’ll work in a supportive team, focusing on resident comfort and dignity, with responsibilities including food service, cleanliness and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience working with food and maintaining cleanliness.
• Experience with cleaning and safe use of chemicals.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Good time management and a genuine interest in supporting residents.

Responsibilities

• Food service, table service and maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
• Assisting with food preparation and reheating meals as directed.
• Ensuring meals reach residents at the right time and temperature.
• Supporting dietary needs and following the site Food Safety Program.
• Operating POS/EFTPOS when required.
• Working safely and following WHS and infection control procedures.

About the Role

As a Casual Catering Assistant, you’ll help create a warm, welcoming dining experience for residents at our Macquarie Park group of homes. You’ll support daily kitchen operations by preparing light refreshments, serving meals, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Your work helps residents feel cared for, respected and at home.

Key responsibilities include:

• Food service, table service and maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas
• Assisting with food preparation and reheating meals as directed
• Ensuring correct meals reach residents at the right time and temperature
• Supporting dietary needs and following the site Food Safety Program
• Operating POS/EFTPOS when required
• Working safely and following WHS and infection control procedures
