Job summary

The Village - Drummoyne is seeking passionate Catering Assistants on a casual basis to help deliver nutritious meals to residents and support a caring dining environment.

You will work with the Executive Chef Manager, handle food prep, plating, and meal delivery, and provide warm, responsive service.

Ideal candidates have a positive attitude, strong communication, and previous kitchen experience, plus a Certificate III in Hospitality.

About the Role:

Working closely with the Executive Chef Manager, you will be responsible for:

• The preparation and service of high-quality, nutritious meals for our residents.
• Food preparation, basic cooking, food presentation, plating, and delivering meals to dining areas.
• Providing exceptional customer service, ensuring residents feel welcomed, receive individualised attention, and enjoy responsive service.
• Complying with all food and safety regulations as scheduled.
• Assisting with stock control, rotation of stock, and receipting deliveries.
• Contributing to a harmonious and cooperative team culture based on mutual respect and trust.

The Successful Applicants Will Have:

• A great attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Good communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service excellence.
• Previous experience in food preparation within a commercial kitchen, preferably in an aged care or health services environment.
• Certificate III in Hospitality or an equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (AM/PM weekdays and weekends).
