Job summary

Sweeping Corporation of America in Sydney is seeking passionate Catering Assistants (Kitchen Hand) for casual shifts in Chipping Norton. You will support the Executive Chef with meal prep, plating and on-site dining service for residents.

You will also assist with stock, deliveries, and keeping the kitchen clean and compliant with safety standards. The role requires a positive attitude, good communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation within a commercial kitchen, preferably in aged care or health services.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new skills.
• Strong communication and customer service focus.
• Flexibility to work AM/PM shifts on weekdays and weekends.
• Compliance with Food Safety Standards and relevant legislation.

Working closely with the Executive Chef you will be responsible for:

• The preparation and service of high-quality, nutritious meals for the residents on-site.
• Food preparation, basic cooking, food presentation and plating, and food delivery/service to dining areas.
• Providing exceptional customer service, ensuring that residents receive a warm welcome, individualised attention, and responsive service.
• Complying with all food and safety requirements as regulated and scheduled.
• Assisting with stock control, rotation of stock, and receipting deliveries.
• Contributing to a harmonious and cooperative team culture based on mutual respect and trust.
