Compass Group Australia is hiring a Catering Assistant in New South Wales. This part-time role supports the kitchen, serves customers, handles till transactions, and works in a fast-paced environment with strong team collaboration.

Experience in hospitality and basic food handling is preferred; a Working with Children Check is required or obtainable. Uniforms are provided and growth opportunities exist within Chartwells, a Compass Group division.

The Position

• Assist the kitchen to prepare and present food and beverages
• Provide friendly customer service
• Fast paced environment
• Operate the till to take orders and process transactions
• Collaborating effectively with the team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhering to hygiene standards and following proper food handling practices.

The Person

• Experience with customer service and basic food handling experience is desired
• Some experience with coffee making is advantageous
• Current Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain
• Have strong organisational skills
• Excels in high-pressure environments
• Thrives in collaborative, small-team settings
• Possesses hands on experience with POS systems
• Friendly, customer-oriented attitude
• Being flexible to handle diverse tasks, from food prep to cleaning based on the needs at that time.
