Job summary

Breville is hiring a Senior UX Designer to join the Global Solutions team, working on connected experiences that blend appliances, apps, and content. This Sydney-based hybrid role welcomes international candidates with relocation support.

You’ll design interfaces for digital and physical products, collaborate with product, hardware, and software teams, and contribute to the Breville Design System while crafting premium brand visuals.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in human-centered design and UX across strategy, interaction, research, prototyping, and visual design.
• Experience designing interfaces for physical products and apps.
• Strong communication of ideas verbally and visually.
• Proven ability to collaborate with developers and drive iterative design.
• Familiar with front-end/UX technologies.

Responsibilities

• Work independently within product teams, designing user interfaces for digital and physical products with clear rationale for design decisions.
• Operate within a test-driven design process with usability researchers to solve real customer problems.
• Partner with product management, hardware engineers, cooking and coffee experts, and software engineers to create pixel-perfect experiences.
• Manage multiple projects at different development stages from concept to refinement based on feedback.
• Collaborate with an international design team and contribute to the Breville Design System.

About the role

As a Senior UX Designer on the Breville Global Solutionsteam you’ll be working on solving problems that can help everyone in thekitchen cook smarter. You’ll work on connected experiences that seamlesslyblend appliances, apps, and content in a domain that is wide open forinnovation. You’ll collaborate with a diverse group of experts from manybackgrounds, from Michelin-starred chefs and barista champions tomathematicians and engineers. Your design could be on the next BrevilleEspresso Machine or a best-selling cooking appliance used worldwide!

This is a Sydney-basedhybrid role. Wewelcome international candidatesand can support relocation to Sydney.

What you'll do:

• Workindependently within product teams, designing user interfaces for digitaland physical products while providing clear rationale for your designdecisions.
• Operatewithin a test-driven design process, collaborating with usabilityresearchers and fellow designers to ensure our products solve realcustomer problems, delight users, and succeed in the marketplace.
• Partnerwith product management teams on features and schedules, hardwareengineers on physical requirements, cooking and coffee experts on gettinggreat food results, and software engineers to create pixel-perfect,bug-free experiences.
• Managemultiple projects at different stages of development, from conceptualizingnew products to refining existing ones based on customer feedback andfeature requests.
• Workwith an international design team to support the team’s growth anddevelopment while also learning from each other through giving andreceiving feedback and critique.
• Contributeto the Breville Design System, by designing new components, refiningexisting patterns, and implementing established standards, to ensureconsistency, quality, and efficiency across our entire product line.
• Craftstunning visual designs that support and extends Breville’s award-winningpremium brand.
• Buildand prototype your designs using industry-standard software.

What you’ll need:

• 4-5years of professional design experience. More than just years, we valuethe work you’ve done and how you’ve done it.
• Deepexpertise in all facets of human-centered design and user experience,including UX strategy, interaction design, user research, prototyping,visual design, and user adoption.
• Strongability to communicate conceptual ideas, design details, and rationaleboth verbally and visually.
• Experiencein product development, driving design from planning to release.
• Provenexperience designing interfaces for physical products and apps acrossdifferent platforms.
• Trackrecord of successful collaboration with developers, applying an iterativeapproach to improve digital products at every stage.
• Demonstratedvisual design skill, especially in the construction of visual hierarchieson layouts, and attention to detail on typography, spacing, and colors.
• Ontop of the latest digital trends and process methodologies.
• Comfortwith common front-end / UX technologies with a desire to learn more.
• Proficiency with Figma andemerging AI tools a plus.
