Job summary

St John Ambulance Victoria is seeking a Casual Trainer to deliver engaging first aid training across Victoria, including regional areas. You will facilitate accredited and non-accredited programs, assess learner competency, and ensure quality training aligned with national standards and organisational requirements.

The ideal candidate brings passion for education in health and safety, a TAET certificate, practical first aid credentials, and strong communication to engage adult learners.

Qualifications

• Passion for training and education in first aid, health, safety, mental health, or related field.
• TAE40116/TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent.
• Practical industry experience and/or qualifications in first aid or related discipline.
• Excellent communication skills to engage and motivate adult learners.

About the role

Make a difference in your community by delivering engaging first aid training that equips people with essential life-saving skills. As a Casual Trainer, you will facilitate accredited and non-accredited training programs, assess learner competency, and deliver high-quality training in line with national standards and organisational requirements. You will bring relevant qualifications, industry experience, and a passion for education, wellbeing, and empowering individuals to build confidence, resilience, and safer communities.

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

• Passion for training and education in first aid, health, safety, mental health, or a related field.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/TAE40122) or equivalent.
• Practical industry experience and/or qualifications in first aid or a related discipline.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate adult learners.
• Professional, customer-focused approach and ability to represent St John positively.
• Strong teamwork, collaboration, and sound basic IT skills.
• Commitment to workplace health, safety, and continuous learning.
• Current driver's licence, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel throughout Victoria, including regional areas.
