Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health in Gippsland is seeking a Trade Cook on a casual basis to join our Catering team. You will prepare and deliver high-quality meals for patients, visitors and staff in a busy healthcare setting, while upholding food safety standards and customer service.

Ideal candidates have an accredited Safe Food Handling Course, strong teamwork and organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Accredited Safe Food Handling Course completed.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team.

• Ability to perform stock control, ordering and prep calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in line with recipes and dietary requirements.
• Assist with meal production, portion control, stock ordering and storage.
• Maintain compliance with food safety legislation and LRH policies.
• Monitor food quality and temperature; ensure safe handling practices.
• Support efficient kitchen operations and waste minimisation.
• Contribute to a clean, safe and well-organised work environment.
