Job summary

Northern Grampians Shire Council is seeking enthusiastic Swim Teachers to join our team at aquatic facilities in Stawell, regional Victoria. These casual positions involve delivering Swim and Survive–aligned lessons, building water safety skills, and fostering a fun, safe learning environment for participants of all ages.

You will plan and deliver high-quality lessons, assess progress, adapt to different ages/levels, and mentor trainee swim teachers, while delivering excellent customer service

Qualifications

• Current AUSTSWIM Swim Teacher qualification (or equivalent).
• Help children develop life-saving skills, build confidence in water, and make a positive community impact in a fun, flexible environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt lessons to different learning styles and abilities.
• Knowledge of swimming and water safety teaching principles.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver safe, high-quality swimming lessons.
• Assess participant progress and celebrate achievements.
• Adapt lessons to suit different ages and skill levels.
• Provide exceptional customer service to children, families and carers.
• Support and mentor trainee swim teachers.
• Help create a positive, welcoming and inclusive aquatic environment.
