Job summary

St Vincent de Paul Society NSW is seeking casual team members for the Return and Earn bottle recycling facility in Maitland. This hands-on role involves receiving recyclable drink containers from customers, operating a semi-automated sorting machine and troubleshooting equipment issues.

You will also use a point-of-sale system to process sales and refunds; strong customer service, teamwork, a solid work ethic, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide outstanding customer service.
• Experience in using forklifts and a current valid Forklift Licence.
• Experience working within a warehouse and/or production environment.
• Capacity to perform manual/physical tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and independently.
• Thorough understanding of work, health and safety requirements within a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service
• Operate equipment used for bulk sorting of recyclable drink containers
• Use forklift to empty bins of sorted recyclable containers
• Operate point of sale system for accurate sales and refund transactions
• Assist in other activities i.e. housekeeping, maintenance of warehouse equipment, reporting faulty equipment needing repair, etc.
