Job summary

GMHBA is inviting applications for a Practice Nurse to join our not-for-profit health insurer in Geelong on a permanent part-time basis. You will deliver high-quality care, support patient health, and work closely with GPs and our practice team.

Key duties include triage, holistic health checks, chronic disease management, vaccinations, recalls, and patient education. Must hold AHPRA Division 1 registration and demonstrate ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Triage and clinical assessment of patients.
• Holistic health checks, screening, and preventative care.
• Chronic disease management, wound care, minor procedures, and vaccinations.
• Manage recalls and reminders, health promotion, and patient education.
• Ordering, stock rotation, and maintenance of clinical systems.
• Support practice accreditation, clinical risk systems, and compliance with WHS, infection control, and cold-chain standards.
• Collaborate with GPs, allied health, nurses, and admin staff.
• Participate in team meetings, quality improvement, and professional development.

What You’ll Be Doing

Who We’re Looking For

Must-Haves:

• Current AHPRA registration (Div 1 Nurse)
• Demonstrated clinical competence and working within scope of practice
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Bonus Points:

• Primary care/general practice experience
• Membership of a professional body (e.g. APNA)
• Experience with medical software systems
