Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a qualified Patient Services Assistant to join the Food & Environmental Department at Werribee Mercy Hospital. This casual position covers days, afternoons and nights, based at the hospital location in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

You will help maintain safety standards, support staff training and participate in delivering patient-centred care in a fast-paced setting as the Emergency Department expands to meet community needs.

Qualifications

• Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and problem solve.
• Ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Commitment to policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and the public.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and train staff to achieve standards.
• Experience within a Hospital, Hotel or cleaning sector (desirable).
• Proven ability to supervise and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Based at Werribee Mercy Hospital and rostered casual shifts across days, afternoons and nights.
• Support the Food & Environmental Department management team to maintain high standards.
• Ensure Victorian Public Health cleaning and Food Safety standards are met.
• Provide excellent patient-centred service within a busy hospital environment.
