Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking casual Disability Support Workers to provide personalised in-home support for QCSS clients in Toowoomba and surrounds. You will assist with daily living, mobility, and independent goal attainment, with travel between multiple clients and a reimbursed kilometre rate of $1.01 per km.

Shifts are Monday to Friday, negotiable to fit school hours. A valid Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle are required, along with First Aid and CPR.

Qualifications

• Australian Driver’s Licence required with reliable vehicle.
• Strong communication skills to build positive relationships.
• Excellent organisational skills and hygiene practices.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment).

Responsibilities

• Domestic assistance with light house cleaning and meal preparation.
• Personal care including showering and daily hygiene.
• Support with goal attainment and independence.
• Community access to appointments, events, and shopping.
• Promote independence according to individual needs and goals.
• Establish rapport and collaborate with clients and families.
