Job summary

Expect A Star is seeking qualified Early Childhood Educators to work across Sale, Rosedale and Traralgon in the Gippsland region on a casual basis. You will assist in delivering learning experiences for children aged 0–5 and support colleagues across centres.

Applicants hold a Certificate 3 or Diploma in ECEC (or be studying) and a VIC Working With Children Check. Travel ~30 minutes, food handling, and child protection training are required; availability for at least 2 days is essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate 3 or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or currently pursuing.
• Vic Working With Children Check required.
• Basic food handling certificate.
• Child protection training (Victorian and National).
• Avail for at least 2 days, with regular travel ~30 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate learning experiences for allocated group of children 0–5.
• Collaborate with educators to develop and implement programs.
• Cover lunch breaks, sick days and annual leave when needed.
• Support observation and recording of children's development.
• Explore centres and learn new skills across Gippsland.

The Role:

Work alongside a range of educators as you care and educate Children aged from 0-5

• Facilitate the learning experiences for your allocated group of children
• An ability to work collaboratively with fellow educators to develop and implement inspirational educational programs.
• Be a lifesaver for the permanent educators by helping cover lunch breaks, sick days, and annual leave days
• Participate and support educators in the observation and recording of children’s development
• Explore different centres and philosophies and pick up new skills.

What you need:

• A Certificate 3/Diploma in ECEC or studying towards a qualification in Early Childhood
• A VIC Employee Working With Children Check
• Basic food handling certificate
• Child protection training (Victorian and National)
• Availability for at least 2 days, and sometimes at short notice.
• Be willing to travel 30+ minutes regularly
• Passionate educators with strong communication skills;
• Reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work in new teams.
