Job summary

Expect A Star is seeking casual Early Childhood Educators to join Brisbane’s western suburbs, including Ripley. Enjoy flexible casual shifts, above-award pay, and work close to home with a supportive agency.

As part of the team, you’ll provide high-quality care for children aged 0–5, run play-based activities aligned with EYLF, and help cover staff absences. Weekly pay and ongoing casual opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Hold a Certificate III, Diploma qualification or be actively studying an ACECQA-approved qualification.
• A valid Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) for paid employment.
• Current food handling certificate and GECKO National Child Safety Certificate (or a willingness to obtain them quickly).
• Minimum 2 days of availability per week, with flexibility for occasional short-notice shifts.
• Valid working rights within Australia.
• Excellent communication, a proactive work ethic, and a genuine love for working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and education for children aged 0–5 years in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
• Assist in implementing fun, play-based educational programs in line with the EYLF.
• Support permanent centre staff by seamlessly stepping in during busy periods, staff absences, or scheduled leave.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
• Maintain excellent supervision and adhere to National Quality Standards (NQS) and health and safety regulations.
