Job summary

Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG) is seeking casual Early Childhood Educators to support preschool programs across ACT Early Learning Centres. The role focuses on nurturing well‑being, safety, and development through safe, inclusive, play‑based learning environments.

Casual employees may be called on as needed, with preferred locations and availability managed through the CRS system.

Qualifications

• WWVP registration required.
• First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Diploma in Early Childhood and Care or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Nurture growth and development in preschool children through safe, inclusive play-based learning.
• Engage children in cognitively, emotionally, socially and physically supportive activities.

Remuneration Range:$38.89 to $41.36 per hour, exclusive of casual loading (dependent on qualification, age and experience)

About Us

Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG), provides education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Catholic Systemic Schools and nine Early Learning Centres in the ACT.

About the role

Early Childhood Educators nurture the growth and development of preschool children in a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment. Early Childhood Educators assist in engaging play-based learning experiences that support each child’s cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development in line with theregulatory framework. The ELC Educator's role involves fostering positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, ensuring open communication and collaboration. ELC Educators also maintain a focus on well-being and safety, adhering to CECG and regulatory standards. This is a rewarding role that has the opportunity to impact the lives of children while growing professionally in a supportive team environment.

Casual employees who have been approved to work, nominate preferred work locations and provide their availability through our Casual Relief System (CRS) and may be called upon, on an as-needed basis in accordance with operational needs and employee availability and preference.

Qualifications

• ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
• First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Diploma in Early Childhood and Care; OR
• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).

Other Eligibility Criteria

• You must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident or be in Australia on a visa with work rights to be eligible to apply for this position.
• Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.
