Job summary

Life Without Barriers is hiring a Casual Disability Support Worker in Broken Hill, NSW. The role focuses on person-centred active support for people living with disability, including SIL in various settings and personal care tasks.

You will work to help clients maintain independence, participate in community activities, and manage complex needs with sensitivity. A current First Aid certificate and probity checks are required.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted NSW driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to use basic technology on mobile and desktop devices.
• Current First Aid Certificate HLTAID003 or HLTAID011.
• Willingness to clear probity checks including National Criminal History and NDIS Worker Screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred active support to people living with disability.
• Assist with Supported Independent Living (SIL) in shared housing or own home.
• Perform personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming.
• Support clients with daily living activities and community participation.
• Follow behaviour and mealtime management plans as required.
• Assist clients with complex needs thoughtfully and safely.
• Offer one-on-one supports within the community.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities at home and in the community.
