Job summary

Service Stream is hiring multiple Casual Grounds Maintenance Operators to support a Defence contract at the Larrakeyah Defence Precinct in the Northern Territory. These are permanent full-time roles based at the facility.

You will perform manual and machinery-assisted landscaping tasks, maintain safety on site, and assist tradespeople and site teams across construction, agriculture, and infrastructure projects, including land management duties like weeding, spraying, and mowing.

Qualifications

• Experience operating mowers, blowers, and other landscaping tools.
• Willingness to perform physical outdoor tasks.
• Familiarity with OH&S and PPE usage.
• Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain Defence security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and clearing land for construction, agriculture, or infrastructure projects.
• Operating plant and construction machinery safely and efficiently.
• Loading, transporting, and handling materials and equipment.
• Performing manual labour including digging, lifting, and trenching.
• Supporting tradespeople and crews with general site tasks.
• Conducting equipment checks and report faults or hazards.
• Identifying utility lines and manage soil conditions.
• Setting up and cleaning work areas to maintain site safety.
• Participating in toolbox talks and contribute to a safe work culture.
