Job summary

The Great Escape and Hole in One Melbourne is seeking a casual cook to join our team at Level 4, 525 Flinders Street, Melbourne. You will run the kitchen on your shift, preparing and cooking our menu for walk-in guests, groups between games and catered functions.

We value reliability, organisation, and a friendly, team-first attitude. Kitchen experience is preferred and training is available for the right person. Availability across evenings and weekends is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food to recipe and presentation standard
• Keep ticket times tight through peak trade
• Prep and plate function and event menus to the run sheet
• Set up, stock and clean down the kitchen every shift
• Follow food safety procedures, including temperature checks, labelling, stock rotation and allergen handling
• Report low stock, wastage and equipment faults to the Manager on Duty
• Work closely with the bar and floor team so food gets out hot and on time

A team has just escaped with seconds to spare. A birthday group is coming off the minigolf course. A corporate function is about to sit down. All of them are hungry, and that's where you come in.

We're looking for casual cooks to join the team at The Great Escape and Hole in One Melbourne, our flagship venue with escape rooms, two indoor minigolf courses and the Nexus Lounge bar.

Who we’re looking for

We want a reliable, organised cook who takes pride in putting out consistent, good-looking food, fast. You'll be part of a small, close team, so we're after someone friendly and easy to work with who keeps their cool when the dockets stack up. Kitchen experience is a big plus and we'd love to hear about it. If you've got the attitude and the basics but not much experience yet, we're happy to train the right person.

About the role

You’ll run the kitchen on your shift, preparing and cooking our menu for walk-in guests at the bar, groups between games and catered functions and events. Some nights are steady, some are flat out with function platters and a full venue, so no two shifts look the same.

What you’ll do
