Oaks Melbourne on Market Hotel is seeking a skilled Cook to join our kitchen team on a casual basis. You will prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a high standard and help deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

The role requires at least 12 months of cooking experience, knowledge of cooking procedures, good communication and teamwork, and flexibility for weekends and public holidays. Immediate start available.

Job Description

Oaks Melbourne on Market Hotel are looking for skilled and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team on a casual basis.

This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard, and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
• Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
• Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.

Shift Details (subject to change)

• Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
• Shifts scheduled across breakfast and dinner periods
• Immediate start available

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation)

• Monday - Friday: $33.85 per hour
• Saturday: $40.62 per hour
• Sunday: $47.39 per hour

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
