Job summary

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in South Brisbane is seeking casual Commis Chefs and Demi Chefs. You will contribute to daily kitchen operations across five outlets, supporting Executive Chefs and the Sous Chef, and working in a fast-paced hospitality environment with a focus on quality and consistency.

The role requires experience in commercial kitchens, a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, and strong teamwork and communication.

Qualifications

• Proven experience cooking within a commercial kitchen.
• Eye for detail and presentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting concepts and menus for events and functions.
• Coordinate staffing and maintain hygienic kitchen areas.
• Develop standard recipes and costings for dishes.
• Create new dishes aligned with customer expectations and value for money.
• Supervise kitchen staff in food preparation and presentation.
