Job summary

Northern Midlands Council is seeking two casual Aquatic Facilities Duty Supervisors to help run our pools this season. You’ll rost er rosters, actively guard pools, support casual staff, manage bookings and maintain water quality to ensure safe, smooth operations.

You will monitor customer service, respond to issues, and assist with day-to-day decisions about opening, staffing and safety. A strong safety mindset and reliable on-call availability are essential.

Qualifications

• Current Pool Lifeguard qualification or ability to obtain before commencement.
• Current First Aid and CPR qualifications or ability to obtain before commencement.
• Current Working with Vulnerable People registration or ability to obtain before commencement.
• More than 12 months cumulative experience as a Pool Lifeguard.
• Ability to roster staff, coordinate shift coverage and manage timesheet information accurately.
• Ability to supervise casual pool staff, provide clear direction and follow up operational requirements.
• Sound communication and customer service skills, including responding to complaints professionally.
• Moderate computer skills, including rosters, bookings, records and timesheet information.
• Availability to participate in an on-call roster during the pool season.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating rosters, shift coverage and timesheet follow-up during the pool season.
• Working as active lifeguards on the roster and supervising pool activity for safety.
• Supervising casual Pool Lifeguards and Pool Attendants during rostered operations.
• Managing pool bookings, daily log sheets and records.
• Completing water testing during rostered shifts and verifying correct testing by staff.
• Making day-to-day decisions about pool opening/closing and staffing escalation.
• Checking PPE and equipment and escalating issues to Council officers.
• Reporting hazards, defects and maintenance needs to appropriate staff.
