Our programs span across disability support, out-of-home care, aged care, children’s services, and therapeutic and community initiatives, with every role contributing to safe, nurturing environments where people can thrive.

About The Program

Families Together is a Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) funded program that offers flexible, family-centred case management to help keep children safe and supported at home. Working alongside families, the program aims to reduce the need for out-of-home care by building on existing strengths and capabilities. The Program supports parents and carers to respond confidently to their children’s needs and create safe, nurturing home environments through parenting support, strengthened family functioning, promoting healthy child development, and providing practical assistance to ensure homes are safe and supportive places for children to grow.

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Level 4 Caseworker to join our supportive team in Tuggerah on a permanent full-time basis, 5 days per week. Reporting to the Program Manager this role works in collaboration with families, colleagues and external services to implement family plans and reduce identified risks, seeking guidance and supervision for more complex matters. This role operates with a degree of autonomy under general direction, applying sound professional judgement to assess needs, strengthen family capacity and contribute to positive child safety and wellbeing outcomes. You will have your own caseload of families and ongoing access to external group supervision as well as internal monthly supervision. Following successful completion of the 6‑month probation period, work from home option will be provided. Ideal opportunity for a passionate individual who is ready to make a difference in the Community!

What You’ll Do
  • Participate in whole-of-family assessments that consider child safety, parenting capacity, family functioning and practical needs.
  • Gather information from families and relevant services to identify strengths, needs, and emerging risks, contributing to risk assessments and planning.
  • Develop, implement and review Family Plans, supporting families to identify goals and actions that promote safety and wellbeing.
  • Provide practical and relational support to families over time, supporting coordination with services to meet family-identified needs.
  • Maintain timely, and accurate case notes and reports.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as directed by Manager.
What You’ll Bring
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science (or related discipline).
  • Experience working with children & families experiencing multiple challenges.
  • Understanding of child safety and family preservation principles, with the ability to apply policies and procedures under guidance and supervision.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to maintain case notes and communicate effectively with families and service partners.
  • Demonstrated time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • NSW Driver’s Licence and insured vehicle.
