Job summary

Carrie’s Place Domestic Violence & Homelessness Services Inc in Maitland, NSW, is seeking a Staying Home Leaving Violence Case Manager on a full-time fixed-term contract to June 2031. The role is 35 hours per week within a supportive, community-focused organisation.

The SHLV program assists women and children to leave abusive relationships with case management, information, advocacy and referrals. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will oversee trauma-informed responses, develop client-centred

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Social Science or related field.
• High level of emotional maturity and ethical behaviour.
• Experience in Specialist Domestic Violence, Homelessness or Community Service organisations.
• Commitment to feminist philosophy, social justice and human rights.
• Ability to deliver SHLV program services in line with guidelines and best practice.
• Ability to collaborate with local communities to promote awareness of homelessness and DV services.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to engage with clients in crisis with trauma-informed support.
• Ability to network and build relationships with communities and stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
• National Police Check, or willing to obtain.
• Working With Children Check, or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Contact clients referred to SHLV and plan to address immediate needs.
• Provide information, advocacy, referrals, strategies and interventions to people in crisis and those affected by domestic violence.
• Develop case plans addressing client goals for ongoing support.
• Participate as part of the SHLV and Carrie’s Place teams.
• Provide expert program-related advice as a Case Manager.
