Job summary

Coastal Patios on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a Carpentry Apprentice to join our experienced building team. This full-time role offers hands-on training on patios, decks, carports and outdoor living projects, with a four-day Mon-Thu week.

You will learn from lead builders, gain practical skills, and develop your own apprentice toolkit while working outdoors. You will have support throughout your carpentry apprenticeship and opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• Wants to start or continue a carpentry apprenticeship.
• Holds a current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Holds, or is willing to obtain, a White Card (CPCWHS1001) before commencing.
• Physically fit and able to lift materials regularly.

Responsibilities

• Assisting lead builders with the construction of patios, decks, carports and outdoor living areas
• Learning to safely use and maintain tools and equipment
• Gradually building your own apprentice tool kit
• Digging footings and assisting with concrete work
• Developing practical building skills appropriate to apprenticeship year
• Loading, unloading and moving building materials
• Towing a work trailer when required
• Climbing ladders and working safely at heights
• Supporting the building crew and helping keep projects moving
• Keeping worksites clean, safe and organised

Carpentry Apprentice, Residential Construction

Looking to start a carpentry apprenticeship or continue your training with a great local team?

Coastal Patios is looking for a reliable and motivated Carpentry Apprentice to join our experienced building team on the Sunshine Coast.

This is a full-time position offering a four-day working week, Monday to Thursday. You’ll receive hands-on training while working alongside experienced lead builders across a variety of outdoor construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting lead builders with the construction of patios, decks, carports and outdoor living areas
• Learning to safely use and maintain the tools and equipment required for the role
• Gradually building your own apprentice tool kit
• Digging footings and assisting with concrete work
• Developing practical building skills appropriate to your apprenticeship year
• Loading, unloading and moving building materials
• Towing a work trailer when required
• Climbing ladders and working safely at heights
• Supporting the building crew and helping keep each project moving efficiently
• Keeping worksites clean, safe and organised

This is a physically active outdoor role that involves lifting and moving 20 kg bags of concrete and safely lifting materials weighing approximately 10-20 kg above head height.

Previous building experience is welcome but not essential. The right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are what matter most.
