Job summary

I&M Joinery Pty Ltd is seeking full-time carpenters and joiners to join our teams in Sydney. Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, sourcing materials, and constructing timber frameworks and cabinetry for residential and commercial projects.

Candidates should have certificate III or IV in carpentry or joinery, at least 2 years' experience (or 3 years in lieu of formal qualifications). Australian work rights required; salary 80,000–90,000 AUD per year.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Description

I&M Joinery Pty Ltd I&M Joinery Pty Ltd is seeking full time carpenters and joiners for our teams with the following duties: Interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications to identify required materials measurements, and installation methods. Source, select, and organise appropriate timber and other construction materials, ensuring suitability for each project.

Measure, mark, and prepare layouts to ensure accuracy before fabrication begins. Cut shape, and ensemble timber components using hand and power tools, ensuring tight joins and structural integrity. Construct and install frameworks, roofing structures, flooring systems, and wall partitions, ensuring alignment and level accuracy.

Install external elements such as cladding, window and door frames, fascia boards and roof coverings. Fabricate and ensemble custom woodwork components off-site or in workshop settings for final installation. Create precision joints and connections to ensure strength, durability, and high-quality finish.

Build formwork for concreate structures when required. Carry out maintenance, modifications and repairs to existing structures and fittings Work with a range of materials beyond timber, including laminates, acrylics (such as Perspex), and light metals where required.

Manufacture and install bespoke cabinetry, shelving, counters, and display units for retail and commercial environments. Ensure all fittings meet design specifications, brand standards, and functional requirements. Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other trades to deliver complete fit-out solutions on schedule.
