Job summary

FKG Group is seeking a reliable Caretaker to assist with presentation, maintenance and day-to-day care of our Toowoomba office precinct and employee accommodation facilities.

This flexible role can be structured for two arrangements: an Individual Caretaker (Live Off Site) focusing on general maintenance and cleaning, or a Live-In Caretaker Couple handling maintenance, cleaning, security and on-site accommodation management.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, cleaning, gardening or caretaking.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail and professional interaction with staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain office grounds, buildings and accommodation facilities to a high standard.
• General handyperson and maintenance duties including minor repairs.
• Manage cleaning, presentation and hygiene of common areas.
• Oversee accommodation facilities: guest rooms, linen, kitchen and recreational areas.
• Assist in providing a comfortable experience for travelling employees and guests.

FKG Group is seeking a reliable, hands-on and proactive Caretaker to assist with the presentation, maintenance and day-to-day care of our Toowoomba office precinct and employee accommodation facilities.

This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established Queensland-owned business and play an important role in maintaining a welcoming and professional environment for our employees and their guests.

This opportunity can be flexible in how it is structured, dependent on the right candidate. FKG are open to two employment arrangements:

• Individual Caretaker (Live Off Site) focused on general maintenance, cleaning and property presentation.
• Live-In Caretaker Couple where one or both partners assist with maintenance, cleaning, building security, and the management of our on-site accommodation facilities.

About the Role

The successful applicant(s) will take responsibility for ensuring our Toowoomba office grounds, buildings and accommodation facilities are maintained to a high standard. Tasks and responsibilities will be varied, and will include both routine and ad hoc tasks such as:

Property Maintenance & Grounds

• General handyperson and maintenance duties
• Basic repairs and preventative maintenance
• Monitoring of maintenance requirements
• Lawn, garden and grounds upkeep
• Pool and facilities maintenance
• Waste management and site cleanliness
• Maintenance of storage and archiving facilities

Cleaning & Presentation

• Ensuring all common areas and facilities are clean and hygienic at all times
• Completion of routine cleaning tasks in the offices and childcare centre
• Regular inspection of facilities and amenities

Accommodation Facilities

• Cleaning and preparing guest accommodation rooms (where necessary)
• Managing linen and laundry requirements
• Maintaining shared kitchen, dining and recreational areas
• Assisting in providing a comfortable experience for travelling employees and guests

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be:

• Practical, self-motivated and trustworthy
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Experienced in general maintenance, cleaning, gardening or property caretaking
• Well organised with strong attention to detail
• Friendly and professional when interacting with employees and visitors
• Able to undertake physical work safely and responsibly

Applicants must possess a current C Class Drivers Licence (HR licence would be advantageous) and either have or be able to get a Working with Children Blue Card due to the proximity of our onsite childcare centre.
