Job summary

HammondCare in Narara, NSW, is hiring Casual Carers to deliver personal and compassionate care in the Jean Marion Cottage as part of our respite program. No formal qualification is required, though Certificate III in Individual Support is an advantage; a valid Australian Driver's licence is essential; shifts include mornings, afternoons and nights; full training provided.

• Promote guest dignity and independence through daily activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate changes in care professionally.
• Occasionally assist guests to access community activities and events with transport support.

The Opportunity

HammondCare's Respite Cottages provide short-term accommodation and individualised support for older guests during stays of up to 10 nights. As a Specialised Carer, you'll play a vital role in delivering personalised care and creating a welcoming, home-like environment.

About the role

Hourly Rates: $32.91 to $36.50 P/H + penalties

Please note: Rosters available may not suit student visa due to hour restrictions. Unlimited work rights will be highly regarded.

Shifts include : you must be able to work a mix of the below shifts

• 7.15am-14.45 - Morning shift
• 14.45 - 21.45- Afternoon shift
• 21.30- 07.45- Night shift

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including grooming and hygiene
• Deliver care in accordance with individual care plans
• Support and care for guests during overnight or extended stays
• Promote guest dignity and independence through daily activities
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate changes in care professionally
• You will occasionally assist Guests to access and participate in community activities and events by providing transport support. (Drivers license is essential)

What do you need to apply?

• No formal qualification is necessary; however, Certificate III Individual Support is an advantage
• Australian Drivers license
• Available to work a mix of the above mentioned shifts
• First Aid certificate desirable
• Empathy and compassion are a must
• We provide job training as long as you have the willingness and desire to learn
• Good administrative and computer skills, including the use of a smartphone
• A strong team player, who can communicate professionally changes in care, complete all documentation, whilst maintaining confidentiality.
