Job summary

Uniting NSW & ACT’s Mingaletta Port Macquarie aged care facility is seeking a Care Worker to provide compassionate, person-centred care. You will assist residents with daily living, mobility and supportive tasks to maintain independence and comfort in a warm, home-like setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Certificate III/IV in Individual Support (Ageing) and has 3–6 months of aged care or community care experience. Experience with memory support or household living models is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Hold a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent qualification.
• Must have 3–6 months experience in Aged Care or Community Care.
• Experience in memory support or household living model is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to improve independence and quality of life.
• Assist with daily living activities such as showering, hygiene, dressing and mealtimes.
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings as required.
• Support residents in socially and recreational activities.

Situated in Port Macquarie, Uniting Mingaletta is a residential aged care facility offering a welcoming living environment. Our facility is designed using the household model of care.This fosters a warm, family-like atmosphere where we strive to ensure every resident feels at home.We have single rooms, and our facility is currently undergoing a room refurbishment to ensure our facilities are modernised.

Position Overview:

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings and
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Hold a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent qualification.
• Must have 3-6 months experience in Aged Care or Community Care.
• Experience in memory support or household living model is highly desirable.
• Must have 3-6 months experience in Aged Care or Community Care.
• Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting's everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
