Job summary

Uniting Singleton Facilities in Singleton, NSW, Australia, is seeking casual aged care workers for AM/PM shifts with Wednesday, Thursday and some weekend availability. You will provide care, companionship and support to residents in a small, welcoming home setting, helping to maintain independence and quality of life.

Shifts are casual, with a focus on personal care, daily living tasks, medication assistance and participation in social activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged or community care is preferred.
• Ability to provide personal care and support to residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to promote independence and wellbeing.
• Assist with daily living activities including showering, hygiene, dressing and mealtimes.
• Assist with medication administration and basic wound care.
• Support residents in social and recreational activities.

About Uniting Singleton Facilities

Elizabeth Gatesis a welcoming aged care home in an intimate community of 35 residents and is nestled in the peaceful rural township of Singleton in the Hunter Valley region.
Alroy Househas two separate households, each with between 24 and 25 residents, including a secure Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Our Uniting Homemaker ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

What you’ll be doing in this role

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life


• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility


• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings and


• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• Ideally, you’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification. If you’re not qualified and would like to be, we can help you get there.


• You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.


• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
