Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT in Tumut is seeking a compassionate Care Worker to join our aged care home on a permanent part-time or casual basis. You will provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to promote independence and wellbeing.

Daily living tasks include showering, personal hygiene, dressing, meals and mobility, with medication assistance available where qualified. A Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent is required, along with a respectful, empathetic approach and a

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in aged or community care, or a willingness to start in aged care while studying.
• Empathetic, adaptable and resourceful with Uniting's values: compassionate, respectful, imaginative, bold.
• Ideally medication assistance qualifications but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to promote independence and wellbeing.

Care Worker | Uniting Tumut

• Permanent part-time and casual opportunities both available.
• Up to $36.23 p/h + Super and relevant loadings.
• Located in Tumut NSW.

What you'll be doing in this role

• You'll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life.
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility.
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings.
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we're looking for

• You must have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You'll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you're studying or have recently become qualified.
• You'll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting's everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
• Ideally, you'll have qualifications in medication assistance but not required.
