Job summary

Uniting NSW & ACT is seeking compassionate, empathetic caregivers for permanent aged care roles in Singleton facilities. You will provide care, companionship and support to residents, helping with daily living tasks while promoting independence.

Qualified applicants with a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent are preferred. We welcome those studying or new to aged care and offer development opportunities within a supportive team.

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in aged or community care or an interest in starting a career in aged care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Assisting with daily living activities such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, meals and mobility.

About Uniting Singleton Facilities

Elizabeth Gatesis a welcoming aged care home in an intimate community of 35 residents and is nestled in the peaceful rural township of Singleton in the Hunter Valley region.

Alroy Househas two separate households, each with between 24 and 25 residents, including a secure Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Our Uniting Homemaker ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

What you’ll be doing in this role

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings and
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• Ideally, you’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification. If you’re not qualified and would like to be, we can help you get there.
• You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
