Job summary

Uniting Tumut is hiring Care Workers to provide compassionate support in our aged care home in Tumut, NSW. You will assist residents with daily living activities and personal care, aiming to enhance independence and quality of life.

Applicants should hold a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent, with experience in aged or community care preferred. Medication assistance is desirable but not essential. Opportunities exist for part-time and casual arrangements.

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently qualified.
• Adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will live Uniting’s values of compassion, respect, imagination, and boldness.
• Medication assistance is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to help independence and quality of life.
• Assist with daily living activities: showering, hygiene, dressing, meals, mobility.
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings.
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

• Permanent part-time and casual opportunities both available.
• Up to $36.23 p/h + Super and relevant loadings.
• Located in Tumut NSW.

What you’ll be doing in this role

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life.
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility.
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings.
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• You must have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
• Ideally, you’ll have qualifications in medication assistance but not required.
