Job summary

Uniting Griffith is seeking a Care Worker to join our Residential Aged Care home. You will provide care, companionship and support to residents to enhance independence and quality of life.

Role involves daily living tasks, personal care, mobility, medication assistance and participating in social activities. Applicants require a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent, and previous care experience or a willingness to start in aged care.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in aged or community care, or willingness to start.
• Adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful; aligns with Uniting values.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to help independence and quality of life.
• Daily living assistance: showering, personal hygiene, dressing, meals, mobility.
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings.
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

About Uniting Griffith

Uniting Griffithhas 3 separate households, each with between 17 and 30 residents, including a Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Our Leisure and Lifestyle Team ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

What you’ll be doing in this role

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• You’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
