Uniting Nambucca Heads is seeking PPT Care Workers to join the team and make a meaningful impact in residents' lives within a supportive environment.

You will provide compassionate, person-centred care in our aged care facility, with a rotating roster across morning, afternoon and night shifts. The position is permanent part-time with Monday to Friday availability; weekend shifts can be discussed if desired.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent.
• Desire to work in aged care with a compassionate approach.
• Able to work rotating shifts across mornings, afternoons and nights.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents to support independence and quality of life.
• Assist with daily living activities such as showering, hygiene, dressing and meal support.
• Assist with medication administration and basic wound care as required.
• Support residents in social and community activities within the facility.

About Uniting Pacifica, Nambucca Heads

Uniting Pacifica Nambucca Heads is set across four storeys, each with resident bedrooms and communal spaces, including lounges, dining rooms, and kitchenettes. On the ground floor, there’s a secure Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Our Leisure and Wellness Team ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

Position Overview

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

This role operates on a rotating roster with opportunities across morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

The position is permanent part-time.

Availability is required Monday to Friday, with the option to discuss weekend shifts if desired.

Key Responsibilities

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings and
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must have a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care is highly desirable, or if you have a passion to begin your career in aged care and willing to obtain a qualification, we can help you get there!
• Must be able to work on a rotating roster with opportunities across morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
• Live locally or within reasonable commuting distance of Nambucca Heads.
• Have your own car or reliable transportation as there Is very limited public transportation.
• Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
• Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required.
• A genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
