Job summary

BaptistCare NSW & ACT is seeking an experienced Care Worker to support older Australians at home in Mullumbimby and surrounding areas. You will help with daily tasks, mobility, personal care and transportation, building trusting relationships with clients.

This role offers 40 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm, with no weekends. A driver’s licence and vehicle are essential; you will use a smartphone and care plans to coordinate visits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with household tasks including cleaning, showering, dressing, food preparation.
• Provide continence support and medication assistance as required.
• Assist with transport to and from activities and appointments.
• Build genuine connections with clients to support independent living at home.
• Support clients and families to maintain daily living in Mullumbimby and surrounding areas.

About the role

As an experienced Care Worker supporting clients in the Mullumbimbyand surrounding areas, you will be part of our BaptistCare At Home team that provides quality complex care and support to our clients in their own homes. You may assist with a range of tasks pertaining to household cleaning, showering, dressing, food preparation, continence support, medication assistance and transport to name a few. You will also develop genuine connections with your clients and help them live their best possible lives.

This position is offering 40hrs/fortnight working Monday to Friday 8am-4pm (days negotiable). No weekends required.

To support you in your role

• We offer a comprehensive orientation program including buddy shifts
• You’ll have direct access to a dedicated supervisor to support you
• You’ll be provided with a mobile phone to access emails, rosters and client care plans
• Access to a dedicated learning and development team to support your ongoing professional development and career pathways
• Earn $34.42/hr (unqualified) - $36.23/hr (qualified) plus superannuation per hour + paid travel time and mileage between clients

You will have an unrestricted Australian Driver Licence and a reliable vehicle with minimum Third-Party Property Damage Insurance to transport clients. You will be a strong communicator with resilience and patience. You will be a proficient user of smartphone technology, apps and email. You will be available to work Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8am to 4.00pm and be local to the Tweed Heads/Murwillumbah area.
