Job summary

Uniting Griffith is hiring casual carers to provide compassionate support in our aged care home. You’ll assist with daily living, personal care and social activities, helping residents maintain independence and wellbeing.

Eligible candidates hold a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent, with prior care experience. We offer flexible shifts, a supportive team, and opportunities to advance into leadership roles within Uniting.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in aged or community care.
• Adaptable, empathetic and aligned with Uniting values.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to support independence and quality of life.
• Assist with daily living activities such as showering, hygiene, dressing, meals and mobility.
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings.
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

About Uniting Griffith

Uniting Griffithhas 3 separate households, each with between 17 and 30 residents, including a Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia.Our Leisure and Lifestyle Team ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

We're transitioning toHousehold Living- our innovative approach to care - which will empower our residents to live their way,just as they would in any family home.

What you'll be doing in this role

• You'll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

We're looking for

• You'll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You'll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you're studying or have recently become qualified.
• You'll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live uniting's everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
