Job summary

Uniting Osborne Nowra is seeking casual Aged Care workers to join our team in Nowra. You will provide care, companionship and daily living support to residents in our aged care home, helping maintain independence and wellbeing.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent, with prior experience in aged or community care. Casual loading and superannuation apply, with opportunities to grow your career within a leading human services organisation.

Qualifications

• Ideally, you’ll hold a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in aged or community care is preferred.
• You should be adaptable, patient, and able to work with compassion and respect.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to support independence and quality of life.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, showering, dressing and mealtimes.
• Support residents with medications and simple wound dressings as required.
• Encourage participation in social and recreational activities within the home.

A Day In The Life with Uniting Aged Care

What you’ll be doing in this role

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• Ideally, you’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
